debbie and andrew's super cool wedding
hotels...

Because our wedding takes place during a holiday weekend, we are unable to "block" a fixed number of rooms at local hotels - lodging within the city of Seattle itself is expensive and can be scarce during busy periods. Again, we highly recommend that you book as soon as possible to avoid paying exorbitant amounts for accomodations.

A number of family members and friends will be staying just outside of Seattle's University District neighborhood in the Silver Cloud Inn. If you would like to take advantage of a discounted "family rate" at the Silver Cloud of $159/night, contact Debbie and we can help arrange that rate.

The U-District Silver Cloud Inn is located at:

5036 25th Ave NE
Seattle, WA 98105
(206) 526-5200
Web Site
A few local bus lines serve the Silver Cloud; however, given its location, access to a rental car or other transportation is recommended as the buses there only run every 30 minutes or so, and are less convenient than buses in other areas.

Other reasonably-priced hotels in the city of Seattle include:

  • University Inn (convenient access to public transportation)
  • Travelodge (surliness provided at no extra charge)
  • College Inn (very inexpensive, excellent public transit access, shared bathrooms)

Beware of hotels/motels located on Aurora Ave.; while rates may be low, the lodging in that area is not exactly intended for "out of town" guests but instead tends to be used for shorter stays of less than one day.

If you wish to stay downtown, lodging rates increase astronomically, though deals can still be found. Downtown hotels tend to have better access to public transportation and better walkability to local attractions - but will often charge you extra for parking if you rent a car. Expedia and hotels.com and other similar sites can help you find lodging in the city and beyond.

There are also a multitude of hotels of varying price and quality ranges located between the airport and the city. Many excellent bargains can be found, though the location may not always be convenient and public transportation is either nonexistent or not recommended (avoid Metro bus route #174). Be sure to check out reviews of hotels near the airport to make sure they are not overly scuzzy.
